Nebraska Miocene

This 8' x 10' acrylic painting on canvas, shown here only in part, depicts a possible scenario during the Miocene geological period in which both prairie and riparian habitats might have been seen.  The animals here are artist's conceptions, subject to change as more fossil information is analyzed in future.  The plants painted are actual species which lived in the area at the time.  See enlargements of the animals in the painting by clicking on the links below.
